ஓட்டிசம் நிலைமையானது உலகெங்கணும்போல் எமது நாட்டிலும் தற்பொழுது அதிகரித்து வருவதாக ஆய்வறிக்கைகள் கூறுகின்றன. எமது மாகாணத்திலும் ஓட்டிசம் உடைய பல பிள்ளைகள் வைத்திய நிபுணர்களினாலும் ஆசிரியர்களாலும் மற்றும் இந்நிலைமை பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வுடைய பெற்றோராலும் அடையாளங் காணப்பட்டுள்ளனர். எமது மாகாணத்தில் இதுவரையில் எத்தனை பிள்ளைகள் மற்றும் வளர்ந்தோர் ஓட்டிச இயல்புகளை உடையவர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள் எனும் புள்ளிவிபரங்கள் எம்மிடம்; இல்லை. ஆயினும் அது பல நூறுகளாக இருக்கலாம் எனவே நிபுணர்களால் கணிப்பிடப்படுகின்றது. முக்கியமாக இந்நிலைமை இனிவருங்காலங்களில் இன்னமும் அதிகரித்துக் கொண்டு செல்லும் என எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகின்றது.
